Dear Valued Patients,
I am writing to let you know that after 25 years of providing cardiac electrophysiology care at Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists, I am retiring this summer. I have had the chance to tell many of you in person, but I wanted to make sure that everyone heard directly from me: My last day of clinical practice will be July 31, 2026.
About three years ago, I began planning for this change. My priority was to ensure a smooth transition and that you would be in excellent hands after my departure. I am pleased to introduce Dr. Jeff Kolominsky, who joins our Stony Point office and Chippenham Hospital at the end of July. Originally from Canada, Dr. Kolominsky completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta; medical school at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel; residency and cardiology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University; and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Michigan. He is a skilled and genuinely caring physician, and I have every confidence that he will serve you well.
If one of our other offices is more convenient for you, then please schedule follow-up care with one of my outstanding cardiac electrophysiology colleagues:
It has been the privilege of my career to care for your heart over the past 25 years here at VCS. The trust you placed in me is something I have never taken for granted, and I am deeply grateful for it. As I step away, my advice to you, as always: Stay as active as you can for as long as you can, eat well, live fully, and may the very best of Irish luck be with you!
Sincerely,

David Gilligan, MD
