FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Richmond, VA (November 11, 2025)
Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists (VCS), Central Virginia’s largest independent cardiovascular practice, has signed a lease for a new, significantly larger facility at 7515 Right Flank Road in Mechanicsville. This expansion of its Bell Creek presence will meet the growing cardiovascular needs of patients across the region. The new site, located in the former Virginia Women’s Center building, will provide approximately 12,000 additional square feet of space and is expected to open in June 2026 following interior renovations. After more than 15 years at its current Bell Creek location, VCS has outgrown the space due to increased demand and the subsequent need to increase space and additional services. The new facility allows the practice to deliver an even more comprehensive range of cardiovascular services and testing, including nuclear, echocardiography, vascular, and lab services, and the future addition of PET/CT imaging, pending COPN (Certificate of Public Need) approval.
Brigette Terrell, Executive Director of VCS, stated, “This expansion positions VCS to not only meet our current patients’ needs, but also support the future growth of cardiovascular patients in eastern Central Virginia. The new Bell Creek facility will improve patient access and create an environment designed for more efficient, coordinated care well into the future.” Terrell added, “Fortunately, the new space is located at the front of the same medical complex our existing clinic is in, so it will be easy for patients to find us.”
Dr. Dean Caven, President of VCS, added, “Our expansion at Bell Creek underscores VCS’s long-standing commitment to providing accessible, exceptional heart care. After 15 years in our current location, this new space positions us to meet the region’s increasing cardiovascular needs and continue advancing the standard of care for our patients.”
Renovations will begin in January 2026 and are targeted for completion in June 2026. During construction, the existing Bell Creek office will remain fully operational to ensure no disruption in care. Charlie Polk, Vice Chairman at JLL, negotiated the lease, with the landlord represented by Malcolm Randolph, SVP and Principal at Colliers. The building owner is CSRA MOB Portfolio II Master Lessee, LLC/Capital Square Asset Management, LLC.
The Bell Creek expansion reinforces VCS’s commitment to providing convenient, high-quality cardiovascular care across Central Virginia. The new facility’s location at the front of the medical complex offers greater visibility, easier access, and ample parking, while its expanded design supports future growth, advanced technology, and an even more seamless patient experience from check-in to care delivery.
Additional staff will be added as services expand following the opening of the new facility. Ten VCS providers will practice at the Bell Creek location upon completion.
