Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists participates with most major insurance plans. As a courtesy to our patients, our staff will automatically file your insurance claims. Please provide us with all necessary insurance data, including your insurance company name and address, and your policy number.
2026 Financial and Cancellation Policies
Note: As of March 1, 2026, VCS no longer accepts cash payments. Accepted payment methods include credit and debit cards, personal checks, and HSA and FSA cards.
Copayments: All co-pays are due at the time of your visit. If you can’t pay your co-pay, we may need to reschedule your appointment, unless you have symptoms that need immediate care.
High-Deductible Health Plans: If you have a high-deductible plan, you must pay $150 at the time of your office visit or $200 for a test. If your deductible has been met, this amount may change.
You must keep a credit card on file with us. It won’t be charged until your insurance processes your claim. We will contact you before charging any amount over $150. VCS will email you a receipt.
Self-Pay: VCS will honor a 50% discount for uninsured patients. Payments are to be made at or prior to the date of service. Please contact our office for pricing information for new patients and return patient office visits and EKGs. All testing quotes will be provided at the time of scheduling.
Missed Appointments and Late Cancellations: The following fees will be charged if you fail to provide at least 24-hour cancellation notice:
- $75 – Office Visit
- $150 – Testing Services to include:
- CT scans
- Nuclear testing
- PET/CT
- Echo
- Vascular testing
- Vein procedures
You must pay this fee before scheduling any future tests. If you cancel twice within 24 hours, we may charge a $200 fee and block further appointments—unless there are special circumstances.
Form Completion: VCS uses Sharecare to complete FMLA and short-term disability forms. Payment is due before forms are processed:
- $30 for the first form
- $25 for updates for the same condition
- Sales tax may apply
Sharecare will contact you with payment instructions.
