Dr. Sojin Youn Wass MD

Dr. Sojin Youn Wass is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists in Richmond, Virginia, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFib) and other heart rhythm disorders. She has a particular clinical interest in treating AFib in patients with heart failure and caring for patients with complex or inherited heart rhythm conditions. Her expertise includes advanced catheter ablation, cardiac devices, and the use of advanced cardiac imaging to guide treatment.

Dr. Wass completed her clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship and advanced research training at Cleveland Clinic. She has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications, invited reviews, and book chapters in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular research.

Dr. Wass believes the best care begins with understanding the person, not just the heart rhythm. She partners with patients through open communication and shared decision-making to help them understand their options and develop individualized treatment plans based on their goals, preferences, and lifestyle.

Dr. Wass provides electrophysiology services for patients at our Short Pump at West Creek Medical Center and Midlothian on Hull at Harbourside Medical Center locations.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wass enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking, traveling, rock climbing, and working on arts and crafts and puzzles together.
