A native of New Zealand, Dr. Darryn Appleton is a board certified interventional cardiologist with fellowship training in cardiac and peripheral interventions. He has a particular interest in CT Angiography, peripheral vascular interventions and complex coronary work. In his spare time, Dr. Appleton enjoys spending time with his family, running around Richmond and travel.

Dr. Aalya Crowl is a board certified non-invasive cardiologist practicing general and preventative cardiology with specialty training and certification in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. She has a particular interest in women’s heart disease and valvular heart disease. In her spare time, Dr. Crowl enjoys spending time with her family.
Dr. Ishan T. Shah is a board certified cardiologist with specialty training in cardiac imaging including MRI, CT, echocardiography and nuclear medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Shah enjoys biking and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Christopher Thomas is a board certified cardiologist. He attended medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School and fellowship trained in cardiology at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Thomas is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Medical Society of Virginia. Dr. Thomas provides cardiology services at our Forest and St. Mary’s locations.
